11 oz. Duck Canvas
Our canvas is what makes our products Duckworthy. 11 oz. duck canvas is waxed on both sides of the fabric to ensure wax is thoroughly distributed within the cotton fibers. This additional waxing ensures water beads up and rolls right off - like water off a duck.
Waxing also creates the opportunity for the canvas to show signs of creasing, scratching, and wear - furthering the individual character and unique story your bag will tell over time. We offer the Migration Duffel and Duck Dopp Kit in four colors: Slate Gray, Forest Green, Navy Blue, & Khaki Brown.
Pull-Up Leather
Prior to pattern cutting, full grain cow hide leather is inspected for scars and irregularities. Any large imperfections are chalked to ensure pattern cutting does not incorporate them. We use what is called "pull-up" leather in our duffel and dopp kit. Pull-up leather (sometimes called saddle leather or vintage leather) contains a waxed finish that quickly takes on a vintage patina from use. This patina is a desired effect of pull-up leather and provides unique "worn-in" character over time.
